Documentation Requirements for Indiana Vehicle Trade-Ins

For Indiana Residents with an Indiana Driver's License:

• 1 Proof of Residence
• Trade Title
• If trading in a vehicle with no payoff and no title in hand, a $150 duplicate title fee applies.
• Payoff Information (if applicable)

For Indiana Residents with an Out-of-State Driver's License:

• 2 Proofs of Residence
• Social Security Card or W-2
• Trade Title
• If trading in a vehicle with no payoff and no title in hand, a $150 duplicate title fee applies.
• Payoff Information (if applicable)

For Out-of-State Residents:

• 2 Proofs of Residence
• Trade Title
• If trading in a vehicle with no payoff and no title in hand, a $150 duplicate title fee applies.
• Payoff Information (if applicable)

Acceptable Proof of Residency Documents:

• Computer-generated bill
• Bank statement or transaction receipt
• Pre-printed pay stub
• W-2 form, property tax bill, excise tax bill, or Social Security/pension benefit statement
• Medicaid or Medicare benefit statement
• Current valid homeowners, renters, or motor vehicle insurance policy
• Current motor vehicle loan payment book
• Residential mortgage statement
• Child support check stub
• First-class mail from federal or state court or agency
• Indiana voter registration card
• Change-of-address confirmation
• Survey of your Indiana property
• Valid Indiana handgun permit
